The middle kingdom has a long and complex history, one for a book not a paragraph. The country has a diversity to it that isn’t always fully appreciated by someone who hasn’t visited with provinces such as Yunnan or Xinjiang both providing a unique flavour to the chinese palette. China is also famous for it’s food, which is also a little more than sweet and sour chicken. Those who love food shouldn’t miss out on Beijing duck or the many varieties of Chinese dumplings, and that’s just a start. The most iconic landmark is perhaps the great wall of China, but in a country so vast you’ll soon be racking up the superlatives for places you’ve seen.

Highlights

The great wall of China - One of mans great constructions and visible from space.

The Karst mountains of Yangshao - Ever wondered where the inspiration for the Chinese plates came from?

Xian - This town is more than just the Terra-cotta army, see the wall and the muslim quarter.

Karakoram highway - One of the highest mountain passes in the world, with some stunning landscapes.
