Gallery Minimalism_-_Gallery.html

With photography said to be the art of subtraction the use of minimalism in photography is a natural fit. There are various ways to create a minimalist feel of course and these vary from using a wide angle lens in a wide space such as a dessert, to the other end of the scale where a telephoto lens might be used to cut out the clutter in a busy city to focus the eye on something more minimal. Minimalism can often be important for work submitted for publishing, as the negative space found in a minimal image can be used for adding text.

The set of photos that have been put together in the gallery were taken over the course of several years, but were mainly taken on a trip through Asia. This is a style of photography I’m looking to develop more, especially with an eye to publishing my work in magazines.
